I was born a few short days before an infamous hurricane after putting my mum through over 24 hours of labour. Things haven’t been too simple since. No wonder that I dislike all the fuss caused over birthdays.

I have a strong interest in the film and television industry, especially in the creative development and pre-production stage, as well as in web development. I went to Bournemouth University for it’s BA (Hons) Scriptwriting for Film and Television course before dropping out after getting a job for a few months in the second year’s summer and finally having the joy of earning money. I am currently developing a web series to be published on it’s own site with a ton of extra features.

I also totally slip into absorbing the media and it’s the media itself that contributes to my discussions, not the actual news going on so much, unless it’s ridiculously deep, deeply touching, hilariously amusing or ground-breakingly controversial.

My favourite pizza is Pizza Hut’s half-pepperoni, half-farmhouse stuffed crust.

This website is actually a mix of a few websites. My blog and portfolio are hosted, on a WordPress install, here at AndrewSparkes.co.uk. It brings my latest tweet from my Twitter feed on the front page and also has a link to my Randomities Tumblr, with it’s own cohesive ’sub-theme’, in the navigation bar at the top.

I have had a few personal domains over the years (mainly containing my name in some form followed by a not-dot-com, much like this actual domain) trying to feature a mix of a proper blog, a portfolio, quick updates and silly stuff but they all failed, since I didn’t have the right mix of web apps to run each idea on. Now I do.

My views on this website, in my Randomities and in my tweets reflect my views and my views only, unless where it’s obvious enough for a martian to realise I am quoting someone or using witty rhetoric to play devil’s advocate to my actual viewpoint in order to show my own view’s true merits and exaggerate the flaws in the opposite argument which I am pretending to preach. So don’t be silly enough to think I mean every word I say.
